Systems, WHS, and Accreditation
At NextGen Civil, the safety and well-being of our team and all individuals and the environment on our sites are paramount. We regularly expand and enhance our accreditations and management systems. This commitment ensures we consistently deliver the highest levels of safety, environmental and quality outcomes for our clients.
Business Management System (BMS)
Our documented Business Management System (BMS) is the core of our operational excellence. It not only standardises our work practices but also guarantees that all work is conducted in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and client specifications.
-
The BMS is maintained on our company server and is accessible to all employees, regardless of location.
The system details the structure and composition of the company's Quality, Environmental, and WHS Management System Plan.
The BMS is in line with:
ISO 9001:2015 (Quality)
ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental)
ISO 45001:2018 (WHS)
The Federal Safety Commission (FSC) Accreditation Scheme.
The system includes Company Policies (including but not limited to Quality, Environment, Aboriginal Participation and Safety), key functional areas, activities and responsibilities, and Processes and standard forms.
Governance and Risk Assessment Practices

-
Leadership Commitment: Senior management emphasises proactive prevention of occupational injury and illness, aiming for zero work-related incidents.
Policies: Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Safety and Health policies are defined, approved, and communicated to all stakeholders, with mandatory policy training for new personnel.
Organisational Accountability: Senior management maintains accountability for Chain of Responsibility (CoR) under National Heavy Vehicle Legislation. They are also responsible for overall direction, training, resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
Client Focus: We aim for complete client satisfaction, delivering high-value, cost-reducing solutions. Client feedback is actively sought and used to drive improvement.
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
The safety and wellbeing of our people and all persons on our sites is paramount to our business.
-
NextGen Civil is committed to complying with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including ISO 45001:2018 and the FSC Accreditation Scheme
We are in the process of applying for third party certification..
We then plan on applying to the Australian Government Building and Construction for Work Health and Safety Accreditation from the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.
As part of this accreditation scheme, we will benefit from periodic on-site audits that will assess our WHS management systems, focus points, and hazards.
We prioritise consultation with employees, hazard and risk control, incident investigation, and training.
Commitment to Accreditation: Our Path to Compliance
At NextGen Civil, we follow a staged approach to quality, safety, and environmental management to ensure our systems are robust and aligned with global best practices. Our goal is to achieve the highest possible standard of third-party verification for our clients.
-
We are actively pursuing full third-party certification of our Business Management System (BMS) against the following international ISO standards:
ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management)
ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management)
ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety)
Achieving these certifications will independently verify that our processes, from project planning to execution, meet rigorous international benchmarks for consistency, sustainability, and safety.
-
Once we have successfully obtained full third-party certification for our core ISO standards, our next step will be to apply for accreditation under the Australian Government Building and Construction Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme (FSC).
This scheme is a critical step that demonstrates a commitment to the highest levels of WHS performance. By following this accreditation path, we assure our clients that our safety systems are not only robust but are also actively reviewed and audited against the strict requirements of the Federal Safety Commissioner.
Cyber Security and Accreditation
Our commitment to robust systems extends to cyber security, protecting our critical data and operations with industry-leading standards. In partnership with Avance Business Technology, our systems are built to meet the stringent Essential Eight (E8) Maturity Level 3 controls. This Australian-specific mitigation framework ensures we are protected against the most common cyber threats. While we continue to mature our systems, this level of protection provides coverage of controls that strongly align with the requirements for ISO 27001’s 'Annex A Technical Requirements' (Information Security Management System), demonstrating our dedication to achieving global best practices for information security and risk management. This proactive approach ensures our digital environment is resilient, secure, and ready for future compliance and certification goals.
